Request for quotation
What a quotation actually needs.
A useful quote depends on the drawing, the material, the tolerance callout and the quantity. This page shows exactly what to send and what happens after it arrives.
01 — What to send
Six things that make a quote accurate.
- A drawing (PDF or STEP) with the revision that applies.
- Material, and whether it is free-issue or to be sourced.
- The tightest tolerance on the part, and on which features.
- Quantity, and whether a prototype precedes the batch.
- Surface finish or coating, including colour and masking.
- Target date, and the date the part is actually needed by.
02 — Enquiry
Send the enquiry.
The brief builder is between delivery channels, so enquiries are taken by email. Send the six details above and the drawing in one message; the panel below opens it already addressed and partly filled.

The online brief builder is between delivery channels, so enquiries are being taken by email. The button below opens your own email application with a message already started. Nothing is sent until you send it.

- What happens when you press the button
- Your email application opens with a new message addressed to info@amprotoprecision.com. If no email application is configured on this device, the address is shown above so it can be copied.
- Attach the drawing yourself
- Drawings and specifications are attached in your email application, not on this website. This page has no upload control, and the previous form never accepted file uploads either.
- Nothing is sent automatically
- This page does not transmit, store or record anything you type. The email exists only once you send it from your own application, and it reaches us only then.
No confirmation is issued on this page. You will have the email in your own sent folder once you send it, and that is the record of the enquiry.
03 — After it arrives
What happens to the brief.
Enquiries are answered during working hours, 09:00–18:00, Monday to Friday.
- 01
Manufacturing review
The part is read against the tolerance callout and the available processes. Anything that cannot be held, or that is over-specified for its function, is raised before a price is given.
- 02
Quotation
Price, lead time and the inspection points, written against the revision of the drawing that was sent.
- 03
Prototype or first article
Where the design is new, a prototype or first article is measured and reported before the batch is released.
- 04
Production
The approved setup is repeated, with inspection at stages through the run. Parts ship with the inspection record.
